Report 23/12/10
Hey everyone! Today, I went to a local tournament with my gladiator beasts, and got 6th place. Here is how it went:
Round 1: VS Winson (Anti-Meta Gadgets) XX
Game 1: Lost to too many 1 for 1 destruction cards and a constant swarm of gadgets.
Game 2: Did a mistake and forgot to bottomless his Doomcaliber Knight. That mistake caused me the game as I failed to draw enough monsters.
0-1
He went on to win the tournament.
Round 2: Random (Mixed and match beatdown) OO
Game 1 and 2: Controlled him with gladiator beasts and traps. Heraklinos and Gyzarus also made appearances.
1-1
Round 3: Banana (Inferinty) OO
Game 1: Trap Dustshoot on the 1st turn enabled me to remove his snowman eater and thus leaving him with no protection, while I had traps to keep his monsters at bay.
Game 2: It was a back and forth battle, but I managed to gain control in the end, and clinched the win.
2-1
THe tournament organizer didn't want to play out the top 8, as he wanted to end it early, so we were given prizes according to our ranking going into top 8.
Placing: 6th Place
Prize: 1 Starstrike Blast booster (Pulled Crap)
That sums up my day at the locals

Karakuri deck review + Card Review
Hi everyone! It's been quite a long while since I last posted. Anyway, since my holidays has just started, so I have more spare time to write blog posts. Today, I will be talking about the deck which has recieved more support from Storm of Ragnarok, and was made famous by DSummon of DuelingDays. Here is a sample decklist, credit to DSummon.
Karakuri Machiner:
Monster [20]
[2] Cyber Dragon
[3] Machina Gearframe
[3] Machina Fortress
[3] Kuikku, Karakuri Ninja
[2] Saisan, Karakuri Doorkeeper
[2] Nishipachi, Karakuri Staff Officer
[2] Nisamu, Karakuri Soldier
[2] Ally Genex Birdman
[1] Card Gunner
Magic [11]
[1] Monster Reborn
[1] Black Hole
[2] Cyclone
[1] Mind Control-
[1] Limit Break
[1] Enemy Controller
[3] Book of Moon
[1] Pot of Duality
Trap [9]
[1] Call of Haunted
[1] Trap Dust Shoot
[3] Urgent Tuning
[2] Bottomless Traphole
[2] Dust Tornado
Okay, this is a hybrid build between Karakuri and Machiner. DS has chosen to only include the main core of the Machiner engine, namely 3 Gearframes and 3 Fortress. Peacekeeper and Force are not needed as this deck focuses on Karakuri monsters instead of Machiner. One of the common plays that one could make with this deck is to discard either Saisan, Karakuri Doorkeeper or Nishipachi, Karakuri Staff Officer with Machiner Fortress to special summon it to the field, and then summon Kuikku, Karakuri Ninja to whack a monster, special summon back the monster which you discarded for Fortress, and synchro summon for either Burei, Karakuri Shogun or Bureido, Karakuri Great Shogun, depending on which monster you discarded. And then you can special summon a Level 4 or lower Karakuri monster, preferably Ninja, then you can do the synchro summoning again next turn. Another alternative is to use Urgent Tuning during your battle phase when Ninja special summons back a tuner, so as to gain another 2 more attacks.
Now, on to the card review! Here is the card which got many of us OCG player hyped up recently: Tech Genus Hyper Librarian.
THis card is quickly becoming a generic synchro that most of us will be putting into our extra decks. He is a level 5 dark attribute, which means that it will be easy to bring out with cards like BF-Blizzard of the North Pole and Deep Sea Diva, and being dark it can fuel the graveyard for cards like Dark Armed Dragon. Spellcaster-type makes synchro summoning Arcanite Magician and Tempest Magician much easier than before. And 2400 attack and 1800 defense is a pretty strong stat. However, the most broken thing about this card is its effect. Drawing a card everytime either player synchro summons is an effect that is a first in the game, and to a certain extent could be game breaking. Synchro summoning is something that most decks will do, and in particular Infernities, Dandy Plant and Fish Synchro. Synchro summoning Hyper Librarian before you perform other synchro summons will enable you to gain back advantage while summoning larger synchro monsters to gain control of the field and the game.
On a side note, the Weekly Jump Magazines were quickly sold out on the day the were released in Singapore, proving how hot Hyper Librarian is now.
I will be reviewing another decktype - Fish Synchro soon, and also the combos that the deck can perform.
So for now, see ya!!

Tournament Report 02/10/10
Hi everyone!! Im very very sorry for the lack of blog posts as previously I had examinations, as well as not much motivation to blog. Anyway, I went to a local tournament yesterday, and only mamnaged to get 7th place out of 19 people... -.-
Pardon my foggy memory.
Deck Played: X-Sabers
Round 1: VS Kee(Black Feather) XOO
Game 1: I lost due to not drawing much monsters, and him gaining massive advantag from Black Whirlwind.
Game 2: I somehow manage to pull of the Cold Wave/Hyunlei combo on him, and gained advantage from multiple Darksouls.
Game 3: We were both topdecking, and he drew a Gale to kill my monster, however, I drew Starlight Road to stop his Icarus Attack and Holy Light to end him.
Went around trading and such while waiting for the next round's pairings to be released.
Round 2: VS Alex(Black Feather) XX
Game 1 & 2: Died to multiple monsters... End of story
Round 3: VS TingJun(Gigavise) OO
Game 1: Controlled him with monsters:
Game 2: Almost got killed by him, but topdecking skills are too strong. Topdecked something which I can't remember to win the game :P
Advanced to top 8
Top 8 match 1: VS Aim(Sabers Mirror) OXX
Game 1 & 2: Don't really remember how I won and lost.
Game 3: I lost to his topdecking skills. I had a face up faultroll and another monster on the field. He topdecked monster reborn, and used his in-hand mind control to take my faultroll and used it against me.... And I just died like that O.o
Bottom 4: Vs Alex again XX
Game 1 & 2: Pro player is pro.. Need I say more??
7th and 8th: VS Yong Xiang(Quickdraw Dandy)--
We just shared the prize.
Game 1&2: Never happened.
Pardon my foggy memory.

Hi people! Sorry for the long hiatus these few weeks, due to me starting poly. Today, I will be discussing about the new deck that has gained massive popularity due to it winning the final shonen jump championship for Jeff Jones. That's right, the deck that I will be talking about is Quick Plants, aka Quickdraw Dandywarrior (Whoever came up with this name likes long names alot.....).

D.D.R enables you to reuse cards like Cyber Vary.

Tournament Report 20/03/2010
Hi everyone!! It has been quite a while since I entered a blog post. Have been busy with work so I apologize about it. Anyway, I managed to get 1st place today at my local tournament. Although there were pretty few competitors(10), most of them were strong players. Deck used today was anti-meta glads.
Round 1: Me (Anti-Meta Gladiators) VS Sazabi (Gadgets) OO
Game 1: I manage to gain advantage after he misplayed and left his Cyber Dragon and a gadget on the field. On my turn after drawing I immediately fused for Chimeratech Fortress Dragon, and began beating him down with Raioh and otehr creatures.
Game 2: Manage to outplay him with bigger monsters on the field. Close game.
Round 2: Me (Anti-Meta Gladiators) VS Takoyaki (Infernities) OO
Game 1: I was not really confident of this match-up as I did not test much against Infernities. However, he had a bad hand and I managed to squeeze a win out of that by using Raioh beat again.
Game 2:I manage to deal him some damage with Raioh yet again, before he Mind Controlled my Raioh. However, he scooped when he realized that he sided out his Zombie Carrier, thus leaving him with no other options.
Round 3: Me(Anti-Meta Gladiators) VS Shinn (Whirlwind BF) XOO
Game 1: I lost after he managed to top deck a Sirocco with me having no monsters that can get rid of it.
Game 2: Manage to apply beatdown with Raioh and Cyber Dragon, as well as some Gladiator Beasts.
Game 3: Won pretty easily due to him drawing no monsters.
Round 4 Me (Anti-Meta Gladiators) VS Yew Loong (Vahalla Angels) XOX
Game 1: Lost to Christia
Game 2: Won due to him not drawing Christia
Gam2 3: Lost to Christia yet again.
Got into top 4 with 9 points
Top 4: Me (Anti-Meta Gladiators) VS Axehead (Whirlwind BF)OXO
Game 1: Won due to beatdown again......
Game 2: Lost due to no monster hand and him Delta Crowing my spells and traps.
Game 3: Won in a topdeck war
Top 2: Me (Anti-Meta Gladiators) VS Redempt (Sporelords)OXO
Game 1 and 3: Won due to me top-decking Heavy Storm to clear his backrow before using Gyzarus to finish the job.
Got a Ghost Rare Power Tool Dragon

Budget Deck #1 - Quick Infernity
Hi everyone! It's me, fireowners again and I will be writing about some decks that I have been testing with. The pros of these decks are that they are mostly cheap decks which do not need a large amount of cash to make, and is immensely fun to play with. NOTE: Not really suitable for competitive play!!
SO HERE WE GO!!!
Quick Infernity: Total 40 cards
Monsters(21)
3x Infernity Beetle
2x Infernity Mirage
1x Infernity Reloader
1x Infernity Revenger
2x Infernity Necromancer
3x Quick Synchron
2x Level Eater
2x Bolt Hedgehog
1x Sangan
1x Armageddon Knight
1x Dark Grepher
1x Necro Gardna
1x Zombie Carrier
Spells(12)
1x Allure of Darkness
1x Heavy Storm
1x Mystical Space Typhoon
1x Brain Control
2x Instant Fusion
2x Book of Moon
2x Nihilistic Purgatory
2x Infernity Gun
Traps(8)
2x Raigeki Break
2x Phoenix Wind Wing Blast
1x Mirror Force
1x Call of the Haunted
1x Torrential Tribute
1x Infernity Break
The main combo of this deck is to use the Infernity engine to enable quick synchro summons with monsters such as Bolt Hedgehog and Level Eater. Another combo that this deck is able to pull off is to synchro summon Drill Warrior, using its effect to empty your hand, as well as keep reusing monsters such as Infernity Necromancer and Infernity Mirage....
Another version of this deck involves using the zombie engine instead of the Synchrons to pull of massive synchro stuns. The zombie varient is also able to pull off the triple Trishula stun, due to Zombie Master, Mezuki and Book of Life..
Anyway, this deck is a fun deck to play around with if you want to try out using Infernity but you do not have Infernity Archfiend, which is the core of the usual Infernity deck.
This concludes my post on the new Infernity budget decktype. I hope you had enjoyed it and try it out!! :):)
Stay tuned for the next blog post, coming this weekend!

King of Fighters Tournament at Khatib CC 07/02/2010
Today, I attended the KOF tournament at Rick's shop. And sad to say, me and my teammates scrubbed, ending the day with a score of 2-2....
My teammates were Sazabi and Starsky. The order of players was me, Sazabi then Starsky.
Me(Gladial Eatos)
Sazabi(Toothless Gladiators)
Starsky(Lightlords)
1st Round: We had a bye due to an odd number of teams attending.
(1-0)
2nd Round: VS Jacky, Xiao Mei and Bao Chun
Game 1: Me(Gladial Eatos) VS Jacky(Lightlords)
I managed to start the game with a Guardian Eatos on the field, along with a Dimension Fissure, locking him down.. Soon after, I managed to gain control.
Game 2: Me(Gladial Eatos) VS Xiao Mei(Gladial Beasts)
After using Starlight Road on her Gladial Beast Gyzarus, I managed to maintain control and won soon after.
Game 3: Me(Gladial Eatos) VS Bao Chun(Vayu Turbo)
This was the longest game of the match. After exchanging blows for a couple of turns, he managed to get me down to 1300 LP. But I managed to mount a comeback with Dimension Fissure and Guardian Eatos.
(2-0)
3rd Round: VS Colin(Flamevell Buster), Kenneth(Magoneko) and Mango(Whirlwind BF)
Game 1: Me(Gladial Eatos) VS Colin(Flamvell Eatos)
He had me in a tight spot when he managed to bring out Ancient God Flamvell, and start to beat me down with it. However, I managed to turn the tables around after he used up all of his Rekindlings, thus leaving me with an opening to finish him off.
Game 2: Me(Gladial Eatos) VS Kenneth(Magoneko)
I was killed by Magoshinju Unicor..... Its is freaking strong. True story.
Game 3: Sazabi(Toothless GB) VS Kenneth(Magoneko)
Sazabi managed to bring Kenneth down after a long battle..... Didn't really remeber the details.
Game 4: Sazabi(Toothless GB) VS Mango(Whirlwind BF)
Somehow or another, he got pwned......
Game 5: Starsky(Lightlords) VS Mango (Whirlwind BF)
Bad draws, bad mills and double Necro Guardna opening hand caused Starsky to end up in defeat..
(2-1)
Round 4: VS Sam,Max and Akira (Whirlwind BF)
Game 1: Me(Gladial Eatos) VS Sam(Whirlwind BF)
Died.... Just died due to him having too many monsters
Game 2: Sazabi(Toothless GB) VS Sam(Whirlwind BF)
Again, just died............
Game 3: Starsky(Lightlords) VS Sam(Whirlwind BF)
Somehow, Starsky managed to defeat Sam..
Game 4: Starsky(Lightlords) VS Akira(Whirlwind BF)
Lost to the powerful Akira....
(2-2)
After checking the standings, our team did not manage to get into the top 8.
After all, Yugimonz is a game which depends on both luck and skill.
Stay tuned for the next blog entry, a deck report about Ally Genex!!!

Deck Review: Creature from the ages long gone......
Hi everyone, today I got back my O level results and am quite satisfied with myself about it. (For those who don't know, O levels examinations are a series of exams that we Singaporeans have to take when we complete our secondary education.)
Anyway, back to topic. Today's post is about a archetype which is not widely played, but is extremely potent when played correctly. The archetype which I am talking is Juracs, which were first seen in the Japanese Duel Terminal sets. All of the Juracs are dinosaurs, and each of them have unique effects that are pretty devastating when pulled off against your opponents. Shown below is a example of a Jurac decklist.
Monsters:
3 Jurac Guivre
3 Jurac Deino
3 Jurac Vello
2 Jurac Galim
2 Jurac Herrera
1 Jurac Monolov
1 Jurac Auro
3 Hydrogeddon
Spells:
3 Fossil Dig
1 Heavy Storm
1 Mystical Space Typhoon
2 Book of Moon
3 Solidarity
1 My Body as a Shield
1 Lightning Vortex
Traps:
2 Fossil Excavation
2 Bottomless Trap Hole
1 Mirror Force
1 Torrential Tribute
2 Kunai With Chain
1 Call of the Haunted
1 Solemn Judgment
Extra:
3 Jurac Giganot
2 Jurac Meteor
1 Stardust Dragon
1 Red Dragon Archfiend
1 Black Rose Dragon
1 Ancient Fairy Dragon
1 Lightning Warrior
1 Goyo Guardian
1 Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Boundary
1 Gaia Knight, The Force of the Earth
1 Magical Andriod
1 Ally of Justice Catastor
Ok, the main focus of this deck is to continuosly summon out Jurac monsters using Jurac Guivre, as well as to synchro summon out a huge Jurac Giganot. Jurac Auro is there to aid in the summoning of Jurac Meteor, which gives this deck the power to clear the field at any given time, and futhermore, Meteor also provide field presence after clearing the field, something that Black Rose Dragon is unable to achieve. This deck also uses Solidarity to boost up the attack power of the monsters, thus giving this deck the ability to constantly spawn out massive monsters, which would spell trouble for the opponent. Hydrogeddon is added in because it is both a searcher as well as a Dinosaur, which enables it to be supported by all the Dino support cards added in this deck.
On to the spells. Dinos have their own RoTA on steroids in the form of Fossil
Dig, as it is not only able to add a Dino into your hand, but it is able to search out Dino monsters which is level 6 and below!! YES, U READ CORRECTLY, LEVEL 6 AND BELOW!! This means that you are able to search for Jurac Herrera and add it into your hand, for it to activate its special ability later on. The rest of the spells are self-explanatory, and most of them are staples in this format.
Finally, there are the traps. Dinos even have their own version of Call of the Haunted, at the mere cost of 1 hand card. Kunai with Chain is to provide extra power to my Juracs, as well as to protect the player from direct attacks from the opponent.
Here are the effects of the Jurac monsters if you don't know them.
