Happy Lunar New Year to all chinese readers!! Once again, happy new year!! With the new year, comes new sets that will help boost the metagame pretty significantly, such as GOLD SERIES 2011, where Trishula will become legal in major tournaments here in asia, as well as EXTREME VICTORY, where the new archetype, Tech Genus, will become available to us. Anyway, onto the main post today. I will be doing a deck review on the decktype which has become popular both in the OCG and TCG metagames. The deck is Fish Synchro. Basically, there are a few variants of this decktype which are used.

-Hyper Librarian Mass Draw
-Mausoleum OTK
-Frog Fish Synchro

Firstly, I will talk about the Hyper Librarian Mass Draw variant. Ever since the synchro TECH GENUS-HYPER LIBRARIAN was released in the OCG, many decks have found ways to abuse it one way or another. Fish synchro is no exception. People have been adding in cards that are not normally found in this deck, such as Metabo Shark and 7-Colored Fish, in order to synchro summon Hyper Librarian. The otk normally ends with a Scrap Dragon, a Holy Ancient Wyvern and a Scrap Archfiend.

Next, there is the Mausoleum variant of the deck. This version utilizes the field card MAUSOLEUM OF THE EMPEROR to summon the big fish easily. This enables the combo to work without having 2 tributes on the field, and can catch your opponent off-guard, as they would expect you to stall till you get 2 tributes on the field before you start your combo.

Finally, there is the variant that incoporates frogs into the deck. This variant uses cards typically found in frog monarchs, such as Treeborn Frog and Ronintoadin to generate multiple tributes to summon the big fish easily. Then, it can also do the same type of combo as the Hyper Librarian variant, and also be able to slowly stall with cards such as Dupe Frog and Snowman Eater.

However, there are a few cards that this deck has to watch out for. One such card is Effect Veiler. After painstakingly summoning the big fish and activate its effect, a Effect Veiler can totally screw up the whole combo. However, there is a way to get around this con. You can special summon a Fishborg Blaster before activating the effect of the big fish, as doing so will be able to protect the big fish's effect from being negate by tributing the Fishborg Blaster.

Anyway, be sure to expect this deck to rise in popularity in the coming months due to its OTK capabilities.

I will be back with another deck review soon, as school has just resumed and I am busy with projects. For now, enjoy the new year and once again, a very happy new year to all readers!!Fireownershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17093169846038146893noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-477486364930728263.post-24036717033265104802010-12-31T07:51:00.001-08:002010-12-31T07:51:38.811-08:00New Year 2011HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!Fireownershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17093169846038146893noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-477486364930728263.post-9169206394285114692010-12-24T02:42:00.000-08:002010-12-24T02:52:28.162-08:00Report 23/12/10Hey everyone! Today, I went to a local tournament with my gladiator beasts, and got 6th place. Here is how it went:

Round 1: VS Winson (Anti-Meta Gadgets) XX

Game 1: Lost to too many 1 for 1 destruction cards and a constant swarm of gadgets.

Game 2: Did a mistake and forgot to bottomless his Doomcaliber Knight. That mistake caused me the game as I failed to draw enough monsters.

0-1

He went on to win the tournament.

Round 2: Random (Mixed and match beatdown) OO

Game 1 and 2: Controlled him with gladiator beasts and traps. Heraklinos and Gyzarus also made appearances.

1-1

Round 3: Banana (Inferinty) OO

Game 1: Trap Dustshoot on the 1st turn enabled me to remove his snowman eater and thus leaving him with no protection, while I had traps to keep his monsters at bay.

Game 2: It was a back and forth battle, but I managed to gain control in the end, and clinched the win.

2-1

THe tournament organizer didn't want to play out the top 8, as he wanted to end it early, so we were given prizes according to our ranking going into top 8.

Placing: 6th Place
Prize: 1 Starstrike Blast booster (Pulled Crap)

That sums up my day at the localsFireownershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17093169846038146893noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-477486364930728263.post-31682731791340714392010-12-17T05:34:00.000-08:002010-12-17T07:13:59.039-08:00Karakuri deck review + Card Review
Hi everyone! It's been quite a long while since I last posted. Anyway, since my holidays has just started, so I have more spare time to write blog posts. Today, I will be talking about the deck which has recieved more support from Storm of Ragnarok, and was made famous by DSummon of DuelingDays. Here is a sample decklist, credit to DSummon.

Karakuri Machiner:
Monster [20]
[2] Cyber Dragon
[3] Machina Gearframe
[3] Machina Fortress
[3] Kuikku, Karakuri Ninja
[2] Saisan, Karakuri Doorkeeper
[2] Nishipachi, Karakuri Staff Officer
[2] Nisamu, Karakuri Soldier
[2] Ally Genex Birdman
[1] Card Gunner

Magic [11]
[1] Monster Reborn
[1] Black Hole
[2] Cyclone
[1] Mind Control-
[1] Limit Break
[1] Enemy Controller
[3] Book of Moon
[1] Pot of Duality

Trap [9]
[1] Call of Haunted
[1] Trap Dust Shoot
[3] Urgent Tuning
[2] Bottomless Traphole
[2] Dust Tornado

Okay, this is a hybrid build between Karakuri and Machiner. DS has chosen to only include the main core of the Machiner engine, namely 3 Gearframes and 3 Fortress. Peacekeeper and Force are not needed as this deck focuses on Karakuri monsters instead of Machiner. One of the common plays that one could make with this deck is to discard either Saisan, Karakuri Doorkeeper or Nishipachi, Karakuri Staff Officer with Machiner Fortress to special summon it to the field, and then summon Kuikku, Karakuri Ninja to whack a monster, special summon back the monster which you discarded for Fortress, and synchro summon for either Burei, Karakuri Shogun or Bureido, Karakuri Great Shogun, depending on which monster you discarded. And then you can special summon a Level 4 or lower Karakuri monster, preferably Ninja, then you can do the synchro summoning again next turn. Another alternative is to use Urgent Tuning during your battle phase when Ninja special summons back a tuner, so as to gain another 2 more attacks.

Now, on to the card review! Here is the card which got many of us OCG player hyped up recently: Tech Genus Hyper Librarian.

THis card is quickly becoming a generic synchro that most of us will be putting into our extra decks. He is a level 5 dark attribute, which means that it will be easy to bring out with cards like BF-Blizzard of the North Pole and Deep Sea Diva, and being dark it can fuel the graveyard for cards like Dark Armed Dragon. Spellcaster-type makes synchro summoning Arcanite Magician and Tempest Magician much easier than before. And 2400 attack and 1800 defense is a pretty strong stat. However, the most broken thing about this card is its effect. Drawing a card everytime either player synchro summons is an effect that is a first in the game, and to a certain extent could be game breaking. Synchro summoning is something that most decks will do, and in particular Infernities, Dandy Plant and Fish Synchro. Synchro summoning Hyper Librarian before you perform other synchro summons will enable you to gain back advantage while summoning larger synchro monsters to gain control of the field and the game.

On a side note, the Weekly Jump Magazines were quickly sold out on the day the were released in Singapore, proving how hot Hyper Librarian is now.

I will be reviewing another decktype - Fish Synchro soon, and also the combos that the deck can perform.

So for now, see ya!!Fireownershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17093169846038146893noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-477486364930728263.post-2071895941777568892010-11-11T04:57:00.000-08:002010-11-11T05:03:15.948-08:00STORM OF RAGNAROKHeys everyone!! End of story

Round 3: VS TingJun(Gigavise) OO
Game 1: Controlled him with monsters:

Game 2: Almost got killed by him, but topdecking skills are too strong. I had a face up faultroll and another monster on the field. He topdecked monster reborn, and used his in-hand mind control to take my faultroll and used it against me.... And I just died like that O.o

Bottom 4: Vs Alex again XX
Game 1 & 2: Pro player is pro.. Sorry for the long hiatus these few weeks, due to me starting poly. Today, I will be discussing about the new deck that has gained massive popularity due to it winning the final shonen jump championship for Jeff Jones. That's right, the deck that I will be talking about is Quick Plants, aka Quickdraw Dandywarrior (Whoever came up with this name likes long names alot.....).

This decklist is a spinoff of the original deck which is customized with OCG cards, as well as making it able to be played in the world qualifiers.

Decktype: Quick Plants Asian Style!!
Deck Count: 40

Monsters:
2x Quick Synchron
2x Wicked Emperor Gaius
1x Cyber Vary
2x Battle Fader
2x Lonefire Blossom
1x Spore
1x Camellia, Princess of Tytannials
1x Sangan
1x Bf- Shippu no Gale
1x Mystic Tomato
2x Debris Dragon
2x Dandylion

Spells:
1x One for one
1x Heavy Storm
1x Mystical Space Typhoon
1x Foolish Burial
1x Enemy Controller
2x Book of Moon
1x Brain Control
1x D.D.R

Traps:
2x Bottomless Traphole
1x Call of the Haunted
1x Torrential Tribute
1x Limit Rebirth
1x Solemn Judgment
1x Divine Warning
1x Pollinosis
1x Mirror Force
2x D-Prison

This deck is quite consistent as it is able to provide a good offense as well as a strong defence. The main loop in this deck is the well-known dandylion-drill warrior loop that produces a large amount of tokens to protect you. Battle Fader and Cyber Vary protects your lifepoints in place of Gorz. D.D.R enables you to reuse cards like Cyber Vary.Fireownershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17093169846038146893noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-477486364930728263.post-77299836602786624162010-03-27T06:54:00.000-07:002010-03-27T06:56:43.433-07:00Return of RAUZES!!!Hey everyone!!! It has been quite a while since I entered a blog post. Have been busy with work so I apologize about it. Anyway, I managed to get 1st place today at my local tournament. Although there were pretty few competitors(10), most of them were strong players. Deck used today was anti-meta glads.

Round 1: Me (Anti-Meta Gladiators) VS Sazabi (Gadgets) OO
Game 1: I manage to gain advantage after he misplayed and left his Cyber Dragon and a gadget on the field. On my turn after drawing I immediately fused for Chimeratech Fortress Dragon, and began beating him down with Raioh and otehr creatures.

Game 2: Manage to outplay him with bigger monsters on the field. Close game.

Round 2: Me (Anti-Meta Gladiators) VS Takoyaki (Infernities) OO
Game 1: I was not really confident of this match-up as I did not test much against Infernities. However, he had a bad hand and I managed to squeeze a win out of that by using Raioh beat again.

Game 2:I manage to deal him some damage with Raioh yet again, before he Mind Controlled my Raioh. However, he scooped when he realized that he sided out his Zombie Carrier, thus leaving him with no other options.

Round 3: Me(Anti-Meta Gladiators) VS Shinn (Whirlwind BF) XOO
Game 1: I lost after he managed to top deck a Sirocco with me having no monsters that can get rid of it.

Game 2: Manage to apply beatdown with Raioh and Cyber Dragon, as well as some Gladiator Beasts.

Game 3: Won pretty easily due to him drawing no monsters.

Round 4 Me (Anti-Meta Gladiators) VS Yew Loong (Vahalla Angels) XOX
Game 1: Lost to Christia

Game 2: Won due to him not drawing Christia

Gam2 3: Lost to Christia yet again.

Got into top 4 with 9 points

Top 4: Me (Anti-Meta Gladiators) VS Axehead (Whirlwind BF)OXO
Game 1: Won due to beatdown again......

Game 2: Lost due to no monster hand and him Delta Crowing my spells and traps.

Game 3: Won in a topdeck war

Top 2: Me (Anti-Meta Gladiators) VS Redempt (Sporelords)OXO
Game 1 and 3: Won due to me top-decking Heavy Storm to clear his backrow before using Gyzarus to finish the job.

Got a Ghost Rare Power Tool DragonFireownershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17093169846038146893noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-477486364930728263.post-50356746374639060892010-02-25T07:03:00.000-08:002010-02-25T07:29:39.272-08:00Budget Deck #1 - Quick InfernityHi everyone! It's me, fireowners again and I will be writing about some decks that I have been testing with. The pros of these decks are that they are mostly cheap decks which do not need a large amount of cash to make, and is immensely fun to play with. NOTE: Not really suitable for competitive play!!

SO HERE WE GO!!!

Quick Infernity: Total 40 cards

Monsters(21)
3x Infernity Beetle
2x Infernity Mirage
1x Infernity Reloader
1x Infernity Revenger
2x Infernity Necromancer
3x Quick Synchron
2x Level Eater
2x Bolt Hedgehog
1x Sangan
1x Armageddon Knight
1x Dark Grepher
1x Necro Gardna
1x Zombie Carrier

Spells(12)
1x Allure of Darkness
1x Heavy Storm
1x Mystical Space Typhoon
1x Brain Control
2x Instant Fusion
2x Book of Moon
2x Nihilistic Purgatory
2x Infernity Gun

Traps(8)
2x Raigeki Break
2x Phoenix Wind Wing Blast
1x Mirror Force
1x Call of the Haunted
1x Torrential Tribute
1x Infernity Break

The main combo of this deck is to use the Infernity engine to enable quick synchro summons with monsters such as Bolt Hedgehog and Level Eater. Another combo that this deck is able to pull off is to synchro summon Drill Warrior, using its effect to empty your hand, as well as keep reusing monsters such as Infernity Necromancer and Infernity Mirage....

Another version of this deck involves using the zombie engine instead of the Synchrons to pull of massive synchro stuns. The zombie varient is also able to pull off the triple Trishula stun, due to Zombie Master, Mezuki and Book of Life..

Anyway, this deck is a fun deck to play around with if you want to try out using Infernity but you do not have Infernity Archfiend, which is the core of the usual Infernity deck.

This concludes my post on the new Infernity budget decktype. I hope you had enjoyed it and try it out!! :):)

Stay tuned for the next blog post, coming this weekend!Fireownershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17093169846038146893noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-477486364930728263.post-39866131249301274332010-02-18T04:13:00.000-08:002010-02-18T04:21:54.059-08:00Shining Darkness PullsYesterday, I opened my box of The Shining Darkness, but sadly, I did not manage to pull a Breeze. (For those who don't know, O levels examinations are a series of exams that we Singaporeans have to take when we complete our secondary education.)

Anyway, back to topic. Today's post is about a archetype which is not widely played, but is extremely potent when played correctly. The archetype which I am talking is Juracs, which were first seen in the Japanese Duel Terminal sets. All of the Juracs are dinosaurs, and each of them have unique effects that are pretty devastating when pulled off against your opponents. Shown below is a example of a Jurac decklist.

Monsters:
3 Jurac Guivre
3 Jurac Deino
3 Jurac Vello
2 Jurac Galim
2 Jurac Herrera
1 Jurac Monolov
1 Jurac Auro
3 Hydrogeddon

Spells:
3 Fossil Dig
1 Heavy Storm
1 Mystical Space Typhoon
2 Book of Moon
3 Solidarity
1 My Body as a Shield
1 Lightning Vortex

Traps:
2 Fossil Excavation
2 Bottomless Trap Hole
1 Mirror Force
1 Torrential Tribute
2 Kunai With Chain
1 Call of the Haunted
1 Solemn Judgment

Extra:
3 Jurac Giganot
2 Jurac Meteor
1 Stardust Dragon
1 Red Dragon Archfiend
1 Black Rose Dragon
1 Ancient Fairy Dragon
1 Lightning Warrior
1 Goyo Guardian
1 Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Boundary
1 Gaia Knight, The Force of the Earth
1 Magical Andriod
1 Ally of Justice Catastor

Ok, the main focus of this deck is to continuosly summon out Jurac monsters using Jurac Guivre, as well as to synchro summon out a huge Jurac Giganot. Jurac Auro is there to aid in the summoning of Jurac Meteor, which gives this deck the power to clear the field at any given time, and futhermore, Meteor also provide field presence after clearing the field, something that Black Rose Dragon is unable to achieve. This deck also uses Solidarity to boost up the attack power of the monsters, thus giving this deck the ability to constantly spawn out massive monsters, which would spell trouble for the opponent. Hydrogeddon is added in because it is both a searcher as well as a Dinosaur, which enables it to be supported by all the Dino support cards added in this deck.

On to the spells. Dinos have their own RoTA on steroids in the form of Fossil
Dig, as it is not only able to add a Dino into your hand, but it is able to search out Dino monsters which is level 6 and below!! YES, U READ CORRECTLY, LEVEL 6 AND BELOW!! This means that you are able to search for Jurac Herrera and add it into your hand, for it to activate its special ability later on. The rest of the spells are self-explanatory, and most of them are staples in this format.

Finally, there are the traps. Dinos even have their own version of Call of the Haunted, at the mere cost of 1 hand card. Kunai with Chain is to provide extra power to my Juracs, as well as to protect the player from direct attacks from the opponent.

Here are the effects of the Jurac monsters if you don't know them.

Jurak Auro (DT07-JP027)
Fire
Lvl 1 *
Dinosaur/Tuner
200/200

Tribute this card and select 1 Level 4 or lower "Jurak" monster other than "Jurak Auro" in your Graveyard. I was using Gladiator Beasts again, however I did not perform up to standard. I did not manage to get a prize..... :(

I arrived at around 1pm, and registered for the tournament. After about 30 mins, round 1 started..

Deck Used: Gladiator Beasts (Only one there today)

Round 1: Me (Gladiator Beasts) VS Jin Hao (Tragedylords)XX
Game 1 + Game 2: A few misplays and a bout of bad draws enabled him to win 2-0

Round 2: Me (Gladiator Beasts) VS Spiky (Dark Count)OO
Game 1: After he summoned Zero Gardna, I immediately Book of Mooned it during his end phrase, thus stopping him from using its effect on the next turn. After he managed to use Final Countdown, I brought out Heraklinos on the 7th turn and proceeded to beat him down with it.

Game 2: Heraklinos came out early, which means that he could not use many traps and spells, which ended in his defeat.

Round 3: Me (Gladiator Beasts) VS Bryan (Burn) OO
Round 1 + 2: Heraklinos really pwns burn deck's asses........

Round 4: Me (Gladiator Beasts) VS Wei Xiang (Twilight) OO
Game 1: Managed to keep his monsters off the field, while applying beatdown with my beasts.

Game 2: He drew super bad and lost shortly after I summoned Kycoo....

TOP 8: Me (Gladiator Beasts) VS Hong Rui (Zombie Synchro)
Game 1: Lost after bout of super bad draws...

Game 2: We traded blows, until we ended up in top-decking mode. Basically, I met up with my friends at Thousand taste at around 1pm, and proceeded to register and trade. I managed to acquire 3x forced requisition and 1x tragodeia for my new deck.... And after and hour of waiting, the tournament finally began!

Round 1: Me (Dimension Cat Gladiators) VS Darren (Zombie Synchro) OXO
Game 1: I managed to maintain control with Kycoo and Gyzarus, and finally brought out a Heraklinos to finish him off.

Game 2: I was starting quite well until he managed to pull off many synchros in 1 turn. After seeing my next draw, I proceeded into scoop phrase.

Game 3: 1st turn I activated Dimension Fissure and kept his zombies at bay with my Kycoos and GB shenanigans.

After-game thoughts: ZOMBIE SYNCHRO IS A HEADACHE TO FIGHT AGAINST.....

Round 2: Me (Dimension Cat Gladiators) VS Hongrui (Blackfeathers) XX
Game 1: I keep drawing nothing except monsters, and got beaten down by his BFs.

Game 2: Again, I kept drawing monsters. and when I managed to draw something useful (Summon Priest), he had Icarus attack to counter it. And I died to Vayu and Sirocco.

After-game Thoughts: Should I go back to the dark side?? Hmmmm....

Round 3: Me(Dimension Cat Gladiators) VS Wei Xiang (Lightlords) OO
Game 1: He scooped after I applied pressure on him with dimension fissure and kycoo. After the duel, he revealed that he had drew all 3 Wulfs in his opening hand... How godly is that.

Game 2: I won after managing to deck him out. Somehow, he managed to pull out Judgment Dragon and attack, and after that, he had 9 cards left in his deck. During his end phase, he milled 4 cards and special summoned a Wulf. During my turn, I drew a Waboku, and set it with my in hand X-Saber Airbellum. During his turn, he drew and attacked with both his monsters, and I activated waboku, and then he had to end, thus milling his final 4 cards and decked out.

After-game thoughts: It was a really nerve-wrecking duel, as I had no confidence of winning Lightlords.

Round 4: Me (Dimension Cat Gladiators) VS Jun Yong (Burn) OO
Game 1: I managed to win through pure beatdown. BUt our lifepoints were very low as he managed to burn me using cards like secret barrel, Des Koala and Just Deserts.

Game 2: I won this duel after bringing out Heraklinos and negated most of his spells and traps, and when he tried to activate Royal Oppression to negate my Gladiator's effects, I chained fairy winds.

After-game thoughts: Burn is ........

I got into top 8!!! Finally I topped after a loooooong time.

Top 8: Me (Dimension Cat Gladiators) VS Darren (Zombie Snchro) OO
Game 1: I won by using my Gladiators to beat him down. I also used Retiati to remove all of his zombies from his grave, maing him unable to use his Book of Life and Zombie Masters.

Game 2: I almost lost this game, as he managed to top-deck Book of Life after Book of Life to revive his Revived King Ha Des to apply beatdown on my creatures. But I managed to draw a god card..... SUMMON PRIEST!!!! I used it to bring out a Rescue Cat and used it to bring out a Samnite and a Test Tiger, in turn bringing out a Darius with Test Tiger's effect, to pull back Bestiari and contact fuse for Gyzarus, which won me the game, after he failed to draw anything.

Top 4: Me (Dimension Cat Gladiators) VS Melvin (Unknown.Dek) XX
Game 1: Lost to Prime Material Dragon. Nuff said.

Game 2: Lost to Prime Material Dragon again. -_-

3rd and 4th Playoff: Me (Dimension Cat Gladiators) VS Jinhao (Lightlord)
Game 1 & 2: Lightlords are strong. Nuff said.

In the end, I got 4th place and got a Junk Archer as a prize. Overall, I feel tha tour team did quite well in this tournament, as 3 out of the 4 seats in the top 4 were occupied by Team Mythos members. Hope that I can continue this streak in the coming weeksFireownershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17093169846038146893noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-477486364930728263.post-3316117544789668782009-11-27T18:45:00.000-08:002009-11-27T19:16:55.898-08:00Deck Review #1 (Part 2)Hi everyone! Sorry for not posting this part up earlier as I was busy with work and other stuff. Anyway, this review is going to be about the other 2 deck-types of gladiator beast, Rescue Gladiators and Standard Gladiators.

Rescue Gladiators

This decktype was very powerful during the 2 cat and 2 priest era... This deck utilizes Rescue Cat to bring out either 2 Gladiator Beast Samnites for attacking, a Test Tiger and a Gladiator Beast Samnite to get rid of either traps or monsters, as the Test Tiger is able to tag out the Gladiator Beast Samnite into either a Gladiator Beast Bestiari to get rid of backrow, a Gladiator Beast Murmillo to get rid of opposing monsters, and even a Gladiator Beast Darius to revive a fallen Gladiator Beast to push for more damage, and lastly, for a quick synchro summon using a X-Saber Airbellum and Gladiator Beast Samnite or Test Tiger. However, this deck was weakened due to the restriction of both Summon Priest and Rescue Cat.

Here is a sample decklist for this deck-type in the current format:

Monster:
2x Gladiator Beast Laquari
2x Gladiator Beast Darius
2x Gladiator Beast Samnite
2x Gladiator Beast Equeste
1x Gladiator Beast Secutor
1x Gladiator Beast Murmillo
1x Gladiator Beast Hoplomus
1x Gladiator Beast Bestiarii
3x Test Tiger
1x Summon Priest
1x Rescue Cat
1x Sangan
1x Cyber Dragon

Spells:
3x Gladiator Proving Ground
1x Heavy Storm
1x Mystical Space Typhoon
2x Fissure
1x Smashing Ground
1x Giant Trunade
2x Shrink
2x Book of Moon

Traps:
2x Waboku
2x Gladiator Beast War Chariot
2x Bottomless Trap Hole
1x Mirror Force
1x Torrential Tribute
1x Solemn Judgment

Total: 40

Another deck-type I will talking about is the standard Gladiator Beast deck, AKA the Prisma Gladiator Beast. It was the reigning decktype during the mid 2008 format, as well as during the World Championship 2008. The main aim of this deck was to maintain control over the field by using the effects of the various Gladiator Beasts, as well as use Elemental Hero Prisma to be able to contact easily. However, when Gladiator Beast Bestiarii was limited to 1, this decktype became much slower than before, and if you send Gladiator Beast Bestiarii to the graveyard, it will become vulnerable to D.D Crow and other types of graveyard removal cards. Now, this decktype focuses on using control cards to keep the player's monsters on the field, and remove the opponents monsters from the field. Shrink, Enemy Controller and Book of Moon are cards that are ran in triplicate, and it help to make sure that your monsters are able to run down your opponents monsters. A sample decklist can be seen below.

Monsters:
3x Gladiator Beast Laquari
2x Gladiator Beast Equeste
1x Gladiator Beast Darius
1x Gladiator Beast Murmillo
1x Gladiator Beast Secutor
1x Gladiator Beast Hoplomus
1x Gladiator Beast Samnite
1x Gladiator Beast Dimacarii
1x Gladiator Beast Bestiarii
3x Test Tiger
1x Test Ape
1x Sangan
1x Elemental Hero Prisma

Spells:
3x Book of Moon
3x Shrink
2x Enemy Controller
1x Heavy Storm
1x Mystical Space Typhoon
3x Gladiator Proving Ground

Traps:
2x Bottomless Trap Hole
2x Waboku
2x Gladiator Beast War Chariot
1x Mirror Force
1x Torrential Tribute
1x Solemn Judgment

That's all for now people.... Be sure to look out for my next installment of deck reviews. See youFireownershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17093169846038146893noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-477486364930728263.post-21847906041969054522009-11-20T05:01:00.000-08:002009-11-20T06:43:29.079-08:00Deck Review #1 (Part 1)Hi people!! Here is my first ever deck review. This review is going to be about one of the decks which I have been playing for a long time, GLADIATOR BEASTS!!!

There are basically 3 styles of playing gladiator beasts, DIFFERENT DIMENSION GLADIATORS, RESCUE GLADIATORS and STANDARD GLADIATORS. Dimension gladiators involve the use of Dimension Fissure to remove all monsters from your opponents graveyards. Rescue Gladiators utilize Rescue Cat to bring out either 2 GLADIATOR BEAST SAMNITE to deal some serious damage or to set up big synchros, such as the synchro summoning of NATURAL BEAST and NATURAL PALKION, a few of the most powerful negators in the game, as well as GOYOU GUARDIAN, which is able to take down a lot of the big monsters that most people play. Finally, there is the Standard Gladiators, which uses cards such as Shrink, Book of Moon, and Enemy Controller to maintain control over his/her opponent.

1. DIFFERENT DIMENSION GLADIATORS
The usual monster set-up for this type of play style is as follows:
2x Gladiator Beast Laquari
2x Gladiator Beast Equest
1x Gladiator Beast Darius
1x Gladiator Beast Retiari
1x Gladiator Beast Hoplomus
1x Gladiator Beast Murmillo
2x Thunder King Raiou
1x Cyber Dragon

They usually use about 13+ monsters as the low monster count enable them to use more spells and traps to protect their monsters.

The spell lineup would include:
3x Dimension Fissure
2x Shrink
2x Book of Moon
2x Gladiator Proving Ground
1x My Body as a Shield

Shrinks and book of moons are in to protect the monsters, as well as to disrupt the momentum of the opponent.

Finally most people would use around 13-16 or even more traps. The lineup is as follows:
3x Gladiator Beast War Chariot
1x Solemn Judgment
2x Dark Bribe
1x Mirror Force
1x Torrential Tribute
1x Dimensional Imprisonment
2x Bottomless Traphole

These are the base of most of the Dimension Gladiator Beasts decks most people are playing. However there might be some variatons according to personal prefernece.

For the next 2 decktypes, plz stay tuned for the next parts... Cause I'm too tired from today...Fireownershttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17093169846038146893noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-477486364930728263.post-58133469849524190142009-11-19T04:33:00.000-08:002009-11-19T04:40:14.292-08:00Pulls from ABPFI opened a box of absolute powerforce boosters during the asia tournament, and my pulls were considerably poor.
